Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case seems to be getting more complicated with each day. With his father KK Singh filing an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty in Patna, charging her with abetment to suicide, theft, wrongful confinement and cheating as well. Meanwhile, the Central government has accepted the request of Bihar government recommending a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the case. Sushant Singh Rajput case: Centre moves Supreme Court seeking to be impleaded as a party in Rhea Chakraborty's plea

The Centre on Friday moved the Supreme Court seeking to make itself a party to actress Rhea Chakraborty's plea for transferring an FIR lodged against her in Patna to Mumbai, in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
The Centre has said that transfer of Patna FIR to the CBI in the case makes it "a necessary and proper party" to Rhea's plea pending in the apex court.

The plea has been filed through the DoPT under secretary Satya Prakash Ram Tripathi.

The Centre had earlier informed the top court that it has accepted the recommendation of Bihar government for CBI probe into the FIR lodged at Patna by Krishna Kishor Singh, father of Rajput, accusing Rhea and six others of various offences including abetment of suicide.

The Supreme Court is expected to hear Rhea's plea next week.

Until then, the Supreme Court has directed all parties to file their replies and Mumbai Police is directed to place the report of investigations, he added.

According to Rhea’s lawyer, unless the Maharashtra Government consents to the CBI investigating the case “it would be totally illegal and beyond any known legal principles, affecting the Federal Structure of the Nation," he said.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI that is probing this case had previously worked on several high profile cases including that of Vijay Mallya.

Sushant was found dead in his Bandra apartment on June 14. The actor’s death was reportedly registered as a suicide, and the post mortem reports ruled out any signs of foul play.

ED had rejected Rhea Chakraborty's earlier request for the recording of her statement to be postponed till Supreme Court hearing. Post which her advocate shared a statement which read as 'Rhea Chakraborty is a law abiding citizen. In view of the fact that ED has informed the media that the request to postpone the attendance is rejected ... she has appeared in the ED at the appointed time and date'. She was now snapped outside the Enforcement Directorate office in Mumbai.

While Rhea Chakraborty has arrived at the ED office to record her statement, after they rejected her request to defer questioning, a relative of Sushant, Niraj Kumar Singh Babloo told ANI, "Rhea Chakraborty should not run away from probe if she is innocent. She should produce evidence for the same. We are demanding an unbiased investigation into the case. No culprits should be spared."
